My autistic daughter had dental work that required her to be put under anesthesia in order to pull her 4 top teeth. She was 3 years old at the time. This dentist wanted to surgically place false teeth in their place and then remove them closer to the time her permanent teeth would come in. Both of these procedures would also require anesthesia as well. I chose not to allow her to be sedated the 2 additional times and opted to not have these procedures. As a result of not canceling the appointment ahead of time, this office will no longer accept my child as a patient. Now, at 6 years old, she has a new dental issue that is causing severe pain because they classify her as a "no call, no show." We are now must travel to a new dentist located over 45 minutes away from our home. As any parent of a child with disabilities knows, every dentist office does not do procedures on children with these types of issues.

My daughter is petrified of dentists and Dr. Amacher and her staff have been wonderful to make her feel comfortable.

A pleasant environment for routine check-ups. To judge on that alone would be 5/5 stars; however, the experience during cavity fillings was unacceptable. Dr. Amacher expects the child to conform exactly to her process for cavity filling, and is eager to recommend fillings. She is impatient when the child does not respond as she expects and wants, and at the speed she wants. It is very difficult to understand her and she is hesitant to answer questions directly. It is clear that she sees the children she works on as $$$, not as little people who are to be respected and treated with care.
