Dentistry involves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of conditions, disorders and diseases affecting the teeth, gums and maxillofacial (associated with the jaw and face) region of the body. General dentists provide services related to the general maintenance of oral hygiene and tooth health.
Periodontology or periodontics (from Greek περί peri "around"; and ὀδούς odous "tooth", genitive ὀδόντος odontos) is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them.
Prosthodontics, also known as dental prosthetics or prosthetic dentistry, is the area of dentistry that focuses on dental prostheses.
i am writing this review with such astonishment and gratitude for the amazing great work Dr. (Mina) Mahnaz Jalali did just now. i just got off her dentist office and with no pain. And infact i have so much positive energy that i said i to myself i will forsure write her something because She deserves it 100% may God bless her. Dr if you are seing this post thank you so much!
I was a patient of Dr Sadr for over 10 years in Ashburn Va. My teeth looked good but most of my back teeth needed work. I was in a lot of pain when I initially went to her. (I lived in Europe and grew up in the 70's when dental care was not a priority!) At one stage I was seeing Dr Sadr almost weekly for urgent treatment. Dr Sadr has a kind gentle manner & explains everything clearly. She has now moved and I am miss her dental care and kind nature. She is one in a million !!
In 2007 I came to Washington, DC and I asked a friend to introduce to me a good dentist. She introduced Dr. Sadr, and despite me moving an hour and a half away later, I never stopped going to Dr. Sadr because her work -- including a complex root canal and crown -- was the very best I've ever known. Dr. Sadr is professional, kind and extremely up-to-date with the best procedures and techniques.
Dr. Sadr is amazing. She is like a magician and can give you back a million dollar smile. She goes above and beyond regular dentistry and works more like an artist. I thank you Dr. Sadr for giving me back my confidence and my smile.
My overall experience here was good, minus one huge exception. I had impacted wisdom teeth removed and my insurance covered impacted wisdom teeth. Family dentistry billed my insurance company under a group name and not under the healthcare provider (the doctor). So I received a few phone calls and they told me my insurance wouldn't cover it and after contacting my insurance they said it was billed incorrectly hence it wouldn't be payed. I informed the family dentistry to bill it under the healthcare provider instead of the group. And now they still want me to pay out of my pocket and they are attacking my credit. That's quiet harsh considering they billed it incorrectly. The problem isn't me and they should be talking to my insurance vs threatening to hurt my credit and send it to collection. The doctor and staff were awesome and my experience was great, minus the billing department.
Had a great experience. Staff was very professional and the facility was spotless. The staff was aware of my fear of pain and worked with me, even apologizing for anything that seemed painful. I was pleasantly surprised. I will be continuing my care here and will also be bringing my children here as well!
This was my first time going to McDonough Dentistry and the experience was incredible. The staff there is more than nice and everyone is in good spirits , I didn't have to wait long at all! Actually I don't think I waited longer than 10 min for anything. The people are very informative and don't try to pressure you to do anything unnecessary all in all I enjoyed those couple hours there at the office and I can't wait to go back for my next treatment .
I've been a patient at McDonough Family Dentistry for two years. The service is always good and the staff is very friendly, understanding and make me feel comfortable in a nervous situation. The dentistry work is excellent. I thank them for bringing my teeth back to good health.
I have always liked this office, and especially Dr. Chandler, until yesterday. This is no reflection of the dentists or hygienists, but more of the policies and office staff. I rescheduled an appointment back in January, and the first available appointment was in May. I noted the appointment in my calendar at the appropriate time, along with notifications so I wouldn't forget. I got the email to confirm, which I did, without noticing that the time of my appointment had changed to 30 minutes earlier than I had originally made the appointment. I noticed that I was going to be late because of this, so I called and they told me that there was a 15 minute grace period. I got there within this grace period, and they would not see me. As often as I have sat in the waiting room well past my appointment time, I would expect them to have a little more respect for their patients who are running a little late. I understand that you have an office to run, but chances are, if i had been on time, you wouldn't have had me back in a room by the time that I arrived anyhow. But that is neither here nor there. I made an appointment with a smaller dentist that is closer to my work, where I suspect they will not turn away a patient due to an honest mistake. I left work 2.5 hours early, after having to put off my cleaning for 4 months, only to get no service. It was truly disappointing.
I have been with this company for years. This past year has particularly been an awful one. There was a change in management a few months ago and the new office staff is HORRIBLE. They are rude, pushy, and completely unprofessional. Within the past month 3 brackets on my braces have popped off for no good reason. MARY the office manager is the most unprofessional, unkind, and the least understanding person in the business. She told me over the phone that she was not going to speak kindly to me! She even YELLED over me when I was trying to make my points, and was completely condescending. She acted like this during my long list of complaints about the manner in which they have run my account with them-- they have NEVER kept track of my payment plan and have kept me in my braces for 6 months longer than I should have them because no one bothered to READ MY FILE when I went in for adjustments! You would think that's important, right? This place has such a high turn over rate of both office staff and doctors/dental assistants because they DO NOT know how to properly run a business! I know I'm not the only one with issues with them because (literally) EVER SINGLE TIME I go in for an appointment, there is another customer at the desk complaining about how the office has lost a record, has lost their payment information, has somehow "lost" cash payments and is double charging people, and the last time I was in the office (earlier this January), a man was threatening to take them to court because they lost his wife's insurance and were charging them with bills that their insurance should be getting instead! So unorganized, such an awful business. My account is canceled with them as of today. I am finding another office that actually cares about the needs of their clients and doesn't lie to steal their money, AND is responsible enough to take the blame when they mess up! Please do not go to this dentist!!! Worst experience I've ever had in my life!! My husband and I have had to deal with them for two years because we got braces there and I wish we could have left. The first problem was they didn't even file our insurance correctly. They told my husband he needed braces or his teeth would fall out eventually. They slapped us with a $5,000 bill and didn't file correctly with our insurance (which covers 50% of braces!!) So then we had to try to get reimbursed for the money they owed us, and the only person who knew it, the woman that filed it wrong, disappeared. So we never got our money back. Aside from being total idiots with insurance paperwork, they were also completely unprofessional. We never waited less than 45 minutes, sometimes we would sit in the chairs in the back for an additional 45 minutes while we listen to them chat with coworkers. Many times when my husband had an ortho appointment, they would ask him "what are we doing, just changing bands?" They never knew!! The doctor who knew what was going on was never there because he lives in Utah. Even when he had appointments set to see that specific doctor, we would wait 45 minutes, and then when they called him back they would say " oh, you're here to see him? He left an hour ago. They shouldn't have scheduled you to see him at that time." Towards the end of our time there, we started asking for names so we could have some leverage when no one knew what was going on. I can't tell you how many times someone said they would call and never did. We would call and ask for that person and they were always "busy". When they say, "I'll call you Friday" it means "never." Every SINGLE time we went with an appointment something went wrong. At least 15 times over the two years we got "you don't have an appointment today"...yes I do that's why I have this card saying I have one... and to top it all off when he finally got his braces off - which took 6 months longer than it should have because no actual person in charge looked at him for months to make an assessment - They added a new office! Which apparently they didn't know about until the day of a set appointment. We went to their main office at Arrowhead mall and they said,"you're at the wrong place. I called you." They called hours before the appointment!! Did you not know you were moving offices a couple weeks ago?? Thanks for letting customers know ahead of time. Couldn't find a better staff if my life depended on it. 5 extractions at once and couldn't be happier about it :-)
DO NOT GO TO I SMILE......Place is a joke. I have been going here for 5 plus years & at the time the staff was great. They knew everyone by name & always made them feel welcome. There was no bs. For a least the past 2 years this place is a circus. On every visit there are new employees, new rules & new procedures. Appointments are not scheduled correctly. You schedule for both a cleaning & an ortho visit for the same day, & when you get there you are told no I only have you down for ortho. Or you are told that you need a route canal on one visit, but when you schedule to have it done & come back & see another person you are told you don't need that. Billing department has no clue what they are doing. In all the years I have been going there have I every received a bill or an EOB. Now they send me a bill for payment with NO explanation or break down, really! I could write a book about the life of each employee in there because that's all you hear while you are waiting. What they did last night or where they are going after work ect. Seriously this place has gone down hill & they do not treat there patients with any respect. I do not recommend this office. I paid a lot and paid off my orthodontist treatement in full before the treatement was done. They flared my teeth out leaving them worse flaring them past my jaw line and refuse to fix it. I call to get at least some type of refund and settling out of court and they refuse to call back. I set a review back in August on facebook 3 months ago and they blocked me due to the negative service they provided. They only care about the money not satisfaction. I called and Mary Elaine said she would have the office manager Julie call back. No one ever called. I do not recommend this office. Three words B A D
What a great experience! First time I ever walked in the door I felt at ease. The office was clean and cozy and smelled like spiced pumpkins. Dr. Woellhaf was kind and explained everything going on inside my mouth, showing me my X-rays and views of my mouth I've never seen! I sadly do have to go back but I feel a lot better about it being an office that makes me feel like they care. -Highly Recommend
I have never met a group of more caring people. The doctor and staff really care about the patients. I felt safe with Dr. Woellhaf and he explained everything in detail which was awesome. I tell everyone I know to come here.
Salt of the earth folks that really seem to care about my family and not just the money a lot of dental offices do. We did cleaning on the whole family right away and got my big issue under control afford-ably. I have to make a few payments but they worked with me even with my iffy credit situation. I love my smile. Thanx iSmile.
