Orofacial Pain Dentistry
Orofacial pain is a general term covering any pain which is felt in the mouth, jaws and the face. Orofacial pain is a common symptom, and there are many causes. It is estimated that over 95% of cases of orofacial pain result from dental causes
This was my first visit for actual dental work. It was prep work for a crown. Dr. Cochran talked to me about everything he was going to do. When he completed the work I told him I had felt no pain whatsoever and that he obviously had done a good job. We then went over the plan for the rest of the work I needed to have done. I was very happy with the plan and very happy with my visit overall. I shall be looking forward to seeing Dr. Cochran again on my next visit.

Courteous, accommodating, generous and true professionals.
Routine appointment was done quickly and professionally. There was little to no waiting at any step. X-rays went straight to cleaning, went straight discussing with the doctor. At each step it was communicated what was going on and why, as well as what to expect next, or going forward. Every experience I’ve had with Cochran Family Dental has been great.

Just had my teeth cleaning done today before I move to RI next week. I informed Dr. Cochran and his staff that I am keeping them as my dental practice because I don’t think I would ever find another group that is as good, caring, compassionate, or essentially pain-free as this group. From front desk to hygienist to Dr. Cochran… top notch all around. Well worth the 500 mile visit twice a year!
As a person who has had a few dental issues and has mild anxiety when going just for a cleaning, I could never say enough how happy I am with Cochran Family Dental. They are definitely sensitive to my needs and are always very understanding. They go above and beyond to make me comfortable.
Dr Cochran was able to see me on a emergency visit. Fixed the problem and also no more pain. Very knowledgeable and a great staff.
As always everyone was right on time, professional and courteous. Mary Beth, Tammy and Dr. Cochran are all doing everything they can to be sure we are safe while giving us great service.

Pleasantly greeted by Beth Ann who puts you at ease and not superficial. My hygienist Lauren is exceptionally through. You even feel the positive effects of clean “toothers ”????while in the chair. Dr Cochran is the Best! His yearly awards are most definitely deserved. Yeah they are My place to go for essential Dental Health
After a very bad dental experience I decided to go to Doctor Cochran. Bethann was so nice and kind who wouldn’t want to go to this office. From the day I went to my first appointment it has been a pleasure working with Doctor Cochran and Breanna.

I love going into this office! The staff and Dentist are so friendly and make it a pleasant and personal experience. Not only do they care about the care you receive, they ask about family and things going on in your life and share their own experiences. It is like seeing family. When I had a dental emergency, Dr. Cochran was on vacation and picked his phone up on the second ring. I was able to get into the office the very next day and the detail put into the repair was top notch!

Dr Cochran has to be one of the most efficient (quick and effective) dentists I have ever seen...across at least 5 states and over 30 years of being able to make such observations. The clinic is clean, attractive and highly organized to match, with a staff that has the rare ability to care about each individual patient even when they are busy. The only downside (for the staff who have to work there long hours almost all week...not for the patients) is the proximity of the office to the high tension power lines out front.

Extremely friendly and comfortable. Easy to work with on billing. They are not always trying to sell me extras as I found at other dentists. And they appear to have the latest in equipment (or at least more modern then my previous).

I'm not usually a review writer, but this team is just that good. They provide a comfortable office, careful and competent staff that communicate very well. The staff sounds like they would only recommend something they would want for themselves. They seem traditional, but yet have the latest technology and smoothly integrate it when appropriate without feeling like they are showcasing it for marketing reasons. I'm so glad I found them and hope they don't change their approach for a long time!

If you've ever put off, and put off going to the Dentist..Brian Cochran is the Dentist for You !! After many years of avoiding going to the Dentist I finally Bit the Bullet and called Dr. Cochran. Beautiful office latest equipment but most of all the Super Friendly Staff put you at ease immediately. Dr. Cochran understood I needed to set up a plan, basically prioritizing what procedure needed to do first taking time to explain and help me feel comfortable and not overwhelmed with the whole experience. Would definitely highly recommend.
One evening I broke an old filling near the gum while flossing. I called Dr. Cochran’s office the next morning and Beth Ann worked me right in. Dr. Cochran was his usual wonderful friendly, professional self and quickly repaired the damage. I was surprised at how quick the job was done and as always the results were great! Later on that day I received an email with post-op instructions which I appreciated because i didn’t catch everything Dr. Cochran mentioned after my procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Cochran and his staff! They are professional, friendly and make you feel part of the family. And as family, you get great care!

Visit to hygenist. The hygenist was polite and did a thorough cleaning with no pain. All procedures were explained clearly. There was not to much talking during the procedure. Would highly recommend.

I got sick a few days before a weekend. My general doctor gave me medicine that caused some side affects including pain in all my teeth. Not knowing what I had at the time I asked for an emergency appointment on the weekend. The fact that the dentist has listed his own cell phone was already something amazing but not only he was nice and concern for me that he scheduled a Sunday appointment. Once I found out it was not related to my teeth but the a medicine side affects that I was giving for allergies, I cancelled my appointment. When I called back the dentist he treated me with the proper concerned and told me to call him back if I needed. That speaks a lot bout a doctor that really cares and wants to ensure no matter the day or time that his patients are important. Thank you so much for that :)

Our family recently moved over to Cochran Family Dental after a very disappointing experience with another practice. Dr. Cochran and his entire staff have made going to the dentist pleasant again. The office is a very relaxing environment and everyone there works hard to ensure you are comfortable from start to finish. We are treated as part of the family and not just another customer. There is never a hard sell or pressure to perform unnecessary procedures. Everything is explained clearly, they are flexible and work within our budget. It is evident that Dr. Cochran loves practicing dentistry and looks at your care with a long-term approach. We are really lucky to have found him!

I am fortunate to be able to say that I have no aversion to going to the dentist! A friend referred me to Dr. Brian Cochran when I moved back to Virginia from Florida in the early 2000's and needed a local dentist. I have never looked back and in fact followed him from his prior (partnership) practice to now his own private practice. He and his staff are most welcoming and always treat patients with the utmost care, concern and respect. It is obvious his team enjoys working together; therefore, this spirit of camaraderie resonates within the practice. His office is conveniently located and is furnished with the latest equipment to support a multitude of dental needs. There has never been a time when I did not feel that my dental health was important to him and his support team. I cannot recommend him highly enough and if I could double the stars to give I would.

Dr Cochran is the best! He took time early on a Saturday morning to fix my daughters tooth that partially came out while she was out of town. I've been seeing Dr. Cochran since I was little when he was over at Cardinal Park. When I moved back to the area after college I find out he had his own practice and I had to sign up for an appointment with him. Loved him then, love him now! His staff was so friendly and the office is beautiful! I had to get a root canal and I was freaking out. Dr. Cochran and his staff made me feel so comfortable. I really felt they went the extra mile to calm my nerves. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cochran and this practice.
Dr. Cochran has been my dentist for several years and I could not ask for anyone more professional, caring, and nice. Dr. Cochran, the hygienist, and assistants always make you feel immensely comfortable and aware of every procedure. The practice is modern and the atmosphere is very relaxing. On one of my first visits with Dr. Cochran, local anesthesia had to be administered, and I was horrified by needles, especially as a child. I profoundly remember Dr. Cochran easing my fear and ensuring me that I would barely feel the needle, if even at all; he also constantly made sure I was doing fine and would stop if I was uncomfortable at any moment. Ever since that day, I do not dread or fear going to the dentist as I know I am in good, caring hands, and that is coming from a person who is terrified of medical procedures.

From the moment I walked in the soothing waiting room (complete with aroma therapy and trickling fountain) to the checkout procedure with the friendly and knowledgeable office manager I could not have asked for a better dental experience. Like many others I have shied away from much needed dental care because of the fear of pain. My fears were immediately put to rest as the wonderful hygienist took the utmost care and time with the cleaning, checking in with me frequently to make sure I was still comfortable. The numbing gel worked magic and I felt no pain with my usually sensitive teeth and gums!! Dr. Cochran was very easy to talk to and listened to my concerns about my teeth. After consulting the X-rays we worked out a game plan to do a few fillings and then I was out the door!! Such a great experience

Great Coming to this new office, everyone greets you by name and with a smile. I was in for some quick dental work, replacing and old filling. It was done well, with no pain and I was not in the office for too long. They are respectful of your time and never running late with appointments.
Excellent Service I have been looking for a dentist like Dr. Cochran for awhile. I need a lot of work, have had several bad experiences with other dentist. I felt like I was just a number, and not heard. Dr. Cochran and his staff have shown me there are decent, kind, dentist out there. No lectures, just told me what needed to be done. I felt comfortable, at ease and not as nervous as usual. I liked being able to watch TV, they offered headphones and even asked if I wanted a hot towel for my neck. They make you comfortable and I was able to get my consultation and two fillings done quickly! I have found the dentist I can trust for my family.

I recently visited Cochran Family dental to get a tooth filled. The staff makes you feel comfortable immediately, the whole experience including the numbing part, was completely painless. When the novocaine wore off, my tooth felt perfectly fine, like nothing had been done. I especially liked the heated neck pillow. They also offer headphones for the TV if that is something you desire. Highly recommend!

I never thought that I’d find myself saying I enjoy a visit to the dentist let alone looking forward to it, but this is how it was as I progressed through my treatment with Cochran Family Dental. Dr. Cochran understood exactly what I wanted done and we set upon a program of treatment which progressed exactly as I had expected ending with a result I was delighted with. It was a spur of the moment decision for me to even lift the phone and make an appointment but I certainly not one that I’ve regretted. I have found him to be excellent at his work and would recommend him to anyone.

Love it!!! As expected, the results were great and I'm very happy! Dr. Brain took his time to make sure my teeth looked exactly the way I wanted them to. Once he was sure that I was satisfied, he told me take a week to see how I felt and to come back to his office anytime if I wanted to make any additional modifications. Overall, just a really great experience!

I really enjoy this dentist office. I hadn't been back for about two years, but my last visit reminded me of the low-pressure atmosphere and culture of the staff.
